John R. Ward - Senior Partner

A graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, John R. Ward was called to the Bar in 1978. John joined Black Sutherland in 1992, and has been a partner since 1994.

With more than twenty-five years’ experience in the practice of law, John is well equipped to handle a wide range of legal issues for his clients. He practices in the areas of business law, wills and estates, intellectual property, real estate and defamation law. John has acted for many entrepreneurial and closely held businesses, assisting management with strategic analysis and corporate decision-making. As well, John provides advice on financial transactions, buying and selling of businesses, commercial real estate, intellectual property issues, high-technology areas and estate and trust planning.
