David received his Honours Bachelor of Arts degree, First in Class, from the University of New Brunswick where he majored in history with specialization in military history. He subsequently earned his Master of Arts degree from Carlton University with a specialization in Canadian and imperial history. David went on to obtain his Bachelor of Law degree at Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1980.
David is a member of the insurance defence group and also practices in the areas of commercial, transportation and estate litigation.
In his commercial litigation practice, David specializes in shareholder disputes, oppression remedies, debtor and creditor bankruptcy issues and contractual disputes. He has significant experience providing counsel on commercial risk, professional errors and omissions, school-board liability and environmental claims. His transportation law practice focuses on railway and trucking industries and has represented Canada’s largest passenger railway system, numerous insurers, provincial ministries and universities.
As well as being a member of the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations and the National Association of Railway Trial Counsel, David is a member and past President of The Lawyers Club.
