Kaleigh received her Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in 2011 where she majored in Political Science. She obtained her law degree (J.D.) from the University of Western Ontario in 2015. In her third year of law school, Kaleigh studied in the LLM program at the Université Jean Moulin in Lyon, France. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2016 and joined the Black Sutherland LLP team that year.
Kaleigh’s areas of practice include commercial litigation and specie insurance litigation. In her commercial practice, Kaleigh acts for a variety of clients in business and shareholder disputes, oppression remedies, mortgage disputes, debt recovery, and contractual disputes. She further provides assistance to clients in the area of employment law, acting for both employers and employees in a range of areas including wrongful dismissal and inducement claims as well as on issues relating to confidential information, fiduciary duties, solicitation and competition. In her specie insurance practice, Kaleigh represents insurers on claims related to jewelry, fine art, and antiquities. Her insurance practice also extends to property loss and construction claims.
Kaleigh has advocated on behalf of her clients at all levels of court in Ontario. She is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations, the Advocates’ Society and the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
